Welcome
to our website!
The Friends of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse organization
was formed in August 1999 as a chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation.,
which is a non-profit 501.C.3. We are dedicated to the restoration
of this lighthouse and it's preservation for generations to come.
Our chapter is strictly a volunteer based organization and all proceeds
from grants, donations, and fund raising efforts are returned to
the lighthouse to support this ongoing effort. We maintain no offices
or salaried positions. Our few overhead expenses include the maintenance
of this website, an emergency cell phone at the lighthouse, dues
to our parent organization and purchases of merchandise for resale
at our gift shop online and in the lighthouse when it is open to
the public. Monthly meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Rockland Yacht Club/Harbormaster's building located in Harbor Park in Rockland. All
meetings are open to the public and we invite you to join
us. |

Now
that you have met us, won't you join us in a walk
out the 7/8 mile breakwater to tour the lighthouse? Then
continue through our website to learn more about the history
of the lighthouse, the ongoing restoration
and preservation efforts, and where we are headed for the
future. Be sure to check out our schedule of events
and by all means don't miss a stop at our online gift shop.
Finally, when you have finished your tour through our website,
we hope you will take the time so see how you might further
this cause and join with us
as a partner to keep the light burning! |
